Kuthampully Handloom Industrial Cooperative Society was established in 1972 with 102 enthusiastic supporters who aim to preserve their traditional culture in their weavings.

However, modern weaving techniques have seeped into the arena to meet the current trends and hence helped in producing designer clothes. Next, we take a Tuk Tuk ride to the Local Coir making factory that chronicles the history of the coir industry of Kerala, making it stand apart from other places. Contrary to the making of coir products manually in houses and small units earlier, it has been completely mechanised now. A visit to the factory will be a treat for your eyes as a wide variety of coir products undergoes transformations that ranges from doormats to wall hangers. You will also marvel at the fine creations this fiber can turn into such as a Taj Mahal, an Eiffel Tower and a huge Ganesha, to name a few. You will also be briefed about the processing and making of the products by the person in charge. Later, you continue your Tuk Tuk ride and reach the clay pot factory where you witness the making of clay pots and be amazed at the art.
