Day 02: MUSCAT

Muscat City Tour – The Fascinating Capital
Drive through the beautiful embassy quarter of Muscat to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Visit the mosque – a splendour of unique Islamic architecture (Islamic dress code to be observed). Our next stop is the Bait Al Zubair Museum with its wealth of information and exhibits on the country’s culture, tradition and heritage. Then on to Muttrah, a delightful quarter of Muscat. Stroll along the Corniche to see the beautiful merchant houses and discover the shopping experience in the busy souk, well known for its silver-craft shops, perfumes, souvenirs and much more to buy. Via the old pass road drive to the former capital of Oman, the old town of Muscat. Walk along the wall of H.H. the Sultan’s Palace and see the forts Jalali and Mirani. In the afternoon – leisure or optional shopping.

Day 03: MUSCAT

Voyage into the Past
Drive to Barka and visit the fish market and Bait Na’am, a former rest house of the ruling family. Then continue along the Batinah plain to Al Hazm. Visit the impressive Al Hazm Fort. Proceed to Ain Al Kasfah, to view the hot springs before driving through picturesque Wadis (dry riverbeds) to the oasis of Nakhl and Ain Thowara. This is the place for a picnic lunch and wandering around before visiting Nakhl Fort. Overnight / Breakfast in Muscat

Day 04: MUSCAT-SUR

Coastal Delights Off road experience along the magnificent coastline to Sur. The tour begins by taking the road to the coastal town of Quriyat, famous for its beautiful beaches. Then onto a photo stop at the “sinkhole”, where a part of the mountain has collapsed and has filled with seawater. The next stop is the White Beach, where picnic lunch will be served and with time for a swim in the Indian Ocean. Proceed to Tiwi and the picturesque Wadi Shaab – wander around its lush vegetation. Stop at the archeological site Bibi Myriam in Qalhat and reach Sur. A short visit of the ancient seafaring town and its dhow yard where the traditional wooden ships are built with simple tools.Overnight / Breakfast in Sur

Day 05: SUR-NIZWA

Wadi Bani Khaled and Wahibah Desert
We proceed to Wadi Bani Khaled, one of Oman’s most beautiful wadis, famous for its lush green oases, water pools and deep canyons. Before proceeding for an exciting dune drive over the dunes, lunch is served in a local restaurant. Visit a camel camp and gain an unforgettable experience of the Bedouins way of life. Proceed via Mudairib village, famous for its many watchtowers, to Nizwa. (Separate luggage transfer from Muscat to Nizwa).Overnight / Breakfast in Nizwa

Day 06: NIZWA-MUSCAT

Nizwa – The Glorious Capital of the Past
Visit the busy cattle market, the traditional Nizwa souk and the impressive 17th Century Nizwa Fort. Continue to Tanuf, a ghost village and today a scene for historical movies. Stop in Bahla with its Unesco listed fort still under restoration. Bahla is also famous for its potteries. The highlight will be the visit to Jabreen Castle, also called the palace of Bilayaroub, a beautiful fort with ceiling decoration and an impressive architecture. Return late afternoon to Muscat.
