COCHIN HERITAGE TOUR WITH COOKING DEMONSTRATION

You will be picked up from Cochin port by our representative & will be taken to Old Cochin for Cochin Heritage tour. Your tour comprises of visit to the Dutch Palace (closed on Friday). It was built by the Portuguese, and presented to the Raja of Cochin in 1555. Though built by the Portuguese, it is popularly known as the ‘Dutch Palace’, as the Dutch renovated it during their brief reign here. The glory of the Palace lies in the murals which are in the traditions of Hindu Temple Art. You will continue with a visit to the Jewish synagogue (closed on Friday noon & Saturday). Built in 1568 A.D, it includes The Great Scrolls of Old Testament and a number of copper plates inscribed in the Hebrew Script, and are still preserved in the Synagogue. This Jewish Synagogue in Kochi stands out as a testimony for the communal harmony. The next stop on your tour will be a visit to St Francis Church. Built by the Portuguese in 1510 A.D, it is believed to be the oldest European Church built in India. Vasco-da-Gama was buried here, and fourteen years later, his mortal remains were taken to Portugal. You will have the opportunity to also see the Chinese fishing nets at the entrance to the harbor, and the mechanical method of catching fish by local fishermen in Fort Kochi. As the tour Session ends you will be taken to a local the residence for an interactive Cooking session & the host is local cookery expert enjoy a Traditional cookery session with them followed by meal. This tour also provides a chance to visit a local home, see what family life is like, and chat about daily life in the city. Cooking takes between 60 – 90 minutes, after which you will eat together. If you do not wish to participate in the cooking and prefer to only watch and photograph (or just talk and eat!), that is fine as well. If there is something specific you’d like to learn how to cook, please let us know in advance and we’ll check whether it is feasible. After the lunch return back to Cochin port. After you have had your fill of a delicious Kerala cuisine, Afterwards, you will be taken back to the port.

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai.Dhobi Ghat-On the way, we can stopover at Dhobi Ghat, which was an open-air Laundromat built-in 1890. The view here is colorful and amazing. Mani Bhavan-Mani Bhavan is a must-visit museum while exploring Mumbai. This is a historic building dedicated to Gandhi. Here you can have a glance over the memories of Gandhi’s political activities in Mumbai.Haji Ali Dargha-Located near to the heart of the city, the Haji Ali Dargha mosque with Indo-Islamic Architecture will offer you an amazing experience, exploring more about with legends about doomed lovers. The dargah includes the tomb of Haji Ali Shah Bukhari.Malabar Hill and Banganga Tank-The final point of the tour is Malabar hill, where you can get the marvelous view of Banganga Tank, which is an ancient water tank as a part of the Baleshwar Temple Complex. Spend some time relaxing enjoying the view.Back to Dock We will transfer you to the port to return before the ship’s departure.
