With Dubai located in Persian Gulf Coast, construction of islands was a brilliant idea put forth by a famous construction firm of this province. Three islands comprise Palm Islands, out of which only one is fully constructed with the rest two on the way, soon. These three islands are known as Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira or Deira islands. Dubai is also home to the tallest tower in the world that has 160 stories and is 828 meters in height. This tower is named as Burj Khalifa. It is truly a marvel to visit these man-made wonders, which gives an experience like none before.

Palm Islands

As mentioned before, Palm Islands is a collection of islands named Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali & palm Deira or Deira Islands. Only Palm Jumeirah has been constructed out of the three islands. Palm Jumeirah was created using land reclamation process, which aids in raising lands from waterlogged areas. This archipelago is now home to numerous homes and establishments. It is a mini-city of Dubai with a monorail connecting this island to the main town.

Palm Jumeirah

A continuous breakwater system prevents sea & ocean from entering the artificial islands. Technologies used to block natural tide movements have resulted in standing water near the constructions. The sand was put on this island, for raising it from the waterlogged area, by a process known as rainbowing.

Palm Jebel Ali

The construction of this artificial archipelago is on hold indefinitely. The construction had started in 2002 & got halted in 2008 due to financial issues. Once completed, this island is estimated to accommodate people & organizations in a vast area of land.

Deira Islands

Also known as palm Deira, this group of artificial islands is a part of Palm Island in Dubai. The construction is on hold since 2008.

Burj Khalifa

Khalifa Tower or Burj Khalifa is the tallest skyscraper in the world with a total height of around 830 meters. Burj Khalifa can accommodate around 28000 to 30000 homes in its 160 stories. Along with being tall, this skyscraper has a lot more attractions such as Dubai fountain, an observation deck, and the Burj Khalifa Park.

Dubai Fountain

The fountain is around 270 m tall and can shoot water up to 150 m in the air. Dubai fountain can synchronize water shooting according to classic & contemporary Arabic music; it is a sight to behold.

Observation Deck

The observation deck at Burj Khalifa on the 124th floor & is named “At the Top”. One can see entire Dubai & part of Oman from here.

Burj Khalifa Park

The park is designed based on a desert flower known as Hymenocallis. Fountains adorn the center of the garden in this park; a true wonder to take a stroll in.
