Your journey begins at the pier where you’ll board your motorcoach and drive into Mumbai. Have your camera at the ready as the route includes many sights along the way. Yo u’ll pass the Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum , Mumbai High Court, Rajabhiai Clock Tower, Flora Fountain and VictoriaRailway Station.
Your first stop is 1,000 feet above sea level at Babulnath Temple, where millions of devotees make a pilgrimage to each y ar. Built in 1780, the hilltop temple overlooking the Arabian Sea is dedicated to Shiva and incorporates many different regional influences in its design. If you’re feeling ambitious, climb the one hundred steps or you can take the elevator to the top nd take in the view.En route to the Southern Indian-style temples, stop briefly for a photo opportunity at the Haji Ali
Mosque, a striking vision that appears to float on the water. The whitewashed mosque sits gracefully over the Arabian Sea, connected to the shore by a long causeway that thousands of pilgrims cross to visit it. During high tide with t he causeway under water, the mosque becomes an island. The 19th century mosque contains the tomb of a Muslim saint named Haji Ali.
The Guruvayur Ram Mandir Temple and the Vishnu Temple are built in the typical South Indian temple-style with tall towers, gateways and black granite images of the gods. Located close by each other on a busy street, the temples are dedicated to the Hindu deities Rama and Vishnu respectively. Guruvayur features a number of small shrines dedicated to various gods and planets. Vishnu features scenes from mythology and everyday life in Southern India.Continue on to Juhu Beach where the ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness) Temple. Better known as Hare Krishna Land, this modern place of worship, spirituality and meditation advocates the teachings and devotion to Krishna. Opened in 1978, it attracts visitors and disciples from all over the world. The vast complex in cludes a marble temple, auditorium, restaurant and seven-story guesthouse on four acres.
Afterwards, enjoy an authentic India buffet-style lunch served in a restaurant at the Sun & Sand, a leading local hotel or similar location. Following lunch, you’ll drive to the Cottage Industry Emporium and enjoy some free time for shopping. After which, you’ll be transferred back to the pier where your ship awaits to take you on your next adventure.
